TargeGen, Inc., Appoints David E. McClure, Ph.D. As Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Drug Development

San Diego, CA -- Jan. 16, 2003 -- TargeGen, Inc., a biotechnology company focusing on cardiovascular diseases and cancer, today announced the appointment of David E. McClure as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Drug Development.

Dr. McClure has over 27 yrs of industry experience in the regulatory and development fields with companies including Merck, McNeil Pharmaceuticals (J&J), ICI, Molecular Biosystems and Sibia Neurosciences. Most recently, Dr. McClure served as Vice President, Drug Development at Signal Research Division of Celgene.

Ulrich, President and CEO of TargeGen. "We are rapidly advancing our first product candidates for cardiovascular disease and cancer into human clinical trials and David's depth of experience is expected to significantly increase the efficiency of that process."

Dr. McClure earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Stanford University and conducted post doctoral research at Columbia University before moving into industry. He is an author on 22 scientific publications and is named as an inventor on 20 issued or pending patents.
