San Diego, CA - March 25, 2003 -TargeGen, Inc., a biotechnology company focusing on small molecule therapeutics for cardiovascular diseases and cancer, today announced the appointment of Dr. Richard M. Soll as Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Scientific Officer.

Dr. Soll has over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in the management of medicinal chemistry functions, drug design and testing. His background includes 11 years at Wyeth-Ayerst Research and 8 years at 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals where he founded the chemistry department and served as Vice President. Most recently, Dr. Soll served as Vice President, Chemistry at Ontogen Corporation.

Dr. Soll earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Dartmouth College and conducted post doctoral research at Harvard University under Professor E.J. Corey before moving into industry. He is an author on numerous scientific publications and is named as an inventor or co-inventor on more than 65 issued or pending patents.
