TargeGen, Inc., Appoints Mark R. Green, M.D. To Scientific Advisory Board
San Diego, CA - August 7, 2003 -TargeGen, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focusing on novel small molecule drugs for the treatment of ischemic diseases and cancer, today announced the appointment of Mark R. Green, M.D., to its Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Green currently serves as Professor of Medicine and Gilbreth Professor of Clinical Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Prior to joining MUSC, Dr. Green served from 1985-90 as Director of the UCSD Cancer Center in San Diego. Dr. Green has more than 300 scientific publications to his credit. He received his B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) at Harvard University and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School. He completed post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and at Stanford University Medical Center. He took his oncology subspecialty training at the National Cancer Institute and Stanford.
Dr. Green has served as the chair of the Respiratory Committee of the CALGB, an NCI funded nationwide, multi-specialty cancer clinical trials group, since 1985. He is currently vice-chairman of the CALGB. Between 1989 and 1995 he was a member of the Subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He served as chair of the Medical Oncology Board from 1995-99.
