TargeGen, Inc. Appoints David F. Ranney, M.D. To Scientific Advisory Board

SAN DIEGO, CA -- November 19, 2002 -- TargeGen, Inc. a biotechnology company focusing on ischemic diseases and cancer, today announced the appointment of David F. Ranney M.D., to its Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Ranney currently serves as Managing Director of Global BioMedical Solutions (Dallas, TX), a drug development consulting group. Previously, he was a co-founder of Hybrigen, a functional proteomics company, and the founder of Access Pharmaceuticals, a drug delivery and speciality pharmaceutical company, where he also served as Chairman and headed the company's R&D programs. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Pathology and an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Ranney is an inventor or co-inventor on 11 issued patents in the fields of drug delivery, particle technologies and imaging agents. After receiving his B.A. at Oberlin College, Dr. Ranney earned an M.D. with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from Case-Western Reserve Medical School (Cleveland, OH).
