Juerg Eckhardt, MD, is a Partner at Bellevue Group in Kusnacht/Zurich, Switzerland, and responsible for venture capital investments. Bellevue is one of the largest financial healthcare investors in the world, investing both private and public equity. Investment vehicles advised by Bellevue include BB BIOTECH, BB MEDTECH, BB BIOVENTURES I, and BB BIOTECH VENTURES II. While with Bellevue and previously while with Global Life Science Ventures, Dr. Eckhardt led several Biotech and Medtech investments in Europe and the US, including, e.g., Calypso Medical Technologies, NeurogesX, CombinatoRx, and Cyberkinetics.

Before becoming a Venture Capitalist, Dr. Eckhardt was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Zurich and New Jersey/New York, where he was Assoc. Partner and member of the firm’s European Healthcare Leadership team. Previously, Dr. Eckhardt was a radiologist and resident physician at the University Hospital of Basle, Switzerland. Dr. Eckhardt holds an MD from the University of Basle, Switzerland, and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
