Dr. Courtneidge joined The Burnham Institute in 2005 as Professor and Director of The Cell Adhesion and Extracellular Matrix Program. Prior to joining The Burnham Institute, Dr. Courtneidge was Distinguished Scientific Investigator, Signal Regulation and Cancer, at The Van Andel Research Institute in Grand Rapids, MI. Previously, Dr. Courtneidge served as Senior Vice President of Research and Chief Scientist at Sugen, Inc. Dr. Courtneidge earned her Ph.D. at the National Institute for Medical Research in London and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Dr. Michael Bishop at The University of California. She later joined the European Molecular Biology Laboratory as Group Leader and later as Senior Scientist.
